The German nicest street 2013 is in Berlin-Moabit
05th February -According to an article published on 9th November 2013 by the ‘Der Tagesspiegel’, a German online newspaper, the nicest street in Germany is in Moabit and it is the Emdener Straße. In this street we have some properties for sale (please, see the properties BB1046A, BB1045A and BB1044A for more information).
Regarding this article, the street has received this award, not because of the street's aesthetics itself, but because of the neighbourhood's engagement and sacrifice. The neighbours are responsible for it, they have picked up rubbish, seeded flowers, so that they turn a horrible street into a paradise.
Among the participant streets, the Emdener Straße was the one with the worst background. It seems actually quite funny, that Moabit was traditionally a problematic town, characterized by the drug world. This was like that until a couple of years ago, when little by little, the people were changing; and therefore, the town itself too. Nowadays, everything is not perfect, but much greener and more multicultural than ever.
There are many Turkish people, illuminated advertising, doner kebab shops, football bars, etc. But there is also a high solidarity among the inhabitants. The people behave different, they communicate with the others and they live in community respecting the rest of the neighbours.
